With Correct Link. Will you help end repression of the Rohingya?

Dear friend

Apologies. The links in the previous email didn't work properly. Here it is with working links.
Thanks.

A little while ago I emailed you to ask you to sign our petition to help end the repression against the Rohingya minority in Burma.

Since then, the situation has got much worse. Last month, three police stations on the border with Bangladesh were attacked and nine police officers were killed. The Burmese Army accuse Rohingya of carrying out the attacks and have launched a brutal crackdown in Rakhine State. Rohingya villagers have been executed, homes and villages burned and there are reports of mass rapes by security forces under military control.

Please sign our petition to urge the NLD government to take action and end the repression.

We are handing the petition in to the Burmese Embassy in London on Tuesday next week. Please sign now so that we can send a strong message to the government.

Burma's Rohingya ethnic minority have faced severe human rights violations for decades, and in the past five years this has increased, with legal and human rights experts saying they have suffered from ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, and that there is even a risk of genocide.

Government policies are designed to make and keep them poor. Children are denied education and health services. Most Rohingya have no citizenship and no vote. International aid is restricted, even to the 140,000 people living in camps after their homes and villages were attacked and burned down in 2012. One senior UN official visiting the camps stated: "I witnessed a level of human suffering in IDP camps that I have personally never seen before."

Please sign our petition to urge the NLD government to take action and end the repression.

Thank you.
