Dear friend

My name is Doug Janke and I?m Head of Fundraising at Burma Campaign UK.

On 24th September 115 countries signed a new declaration of commitment to
end sexual violence in conflict. But the government of Burma has refused to
support the declaration.

Rape and sexual violence by Burmese Army soldiers continues to be a daily
fear for many ethnic women in Burma.

This Sunday I?m running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise funds for Burma
Campaign UK so that we can focus attention on these attacks and stop them.

If you live outside the UK, you can sponsor me here.

If you are a UK resident, please support my run here.

Burma Campaign UK has launched a major campaign to stop rape and sexual
violence by the Burmese Army.

I am running on Sunday to raise funds so that we can support women in Burma
in their struggle for justice and peace. The money we raise will help the
campaign for women in Burma to receive help, justice and protection.

If you are a UK resident, please sponsor me here.
