Sittwe: The election commission in Arakan is yet to announce the results of the referendum, but township authorities throughout Arakan State announced on Sunday that the majority of voters were in favour of the draft constitution and cast "Yes" votes.

Maungdaw: The identities of individuals who were arrested distributing anti-referendum posters among the people in Maungdaw, Buthidaung, and Rathidaung Townships have been released. The protesters were arrested by Nasaka forces over three days from May 7 to 9 and are currently being detained and interrogated at Nasaka headquarters.

On the day of the national referendum, May 10, a polling station in a Southern Ye Township village was coerced by heavily armed military personnel, and a villager Nai Show was arrested.  According to local sources, it is not known why he was arrested, although authorities stated he was a suspected guerilla fighter involved in the explosion outside the village during the polls.
