Dhaka:  A Bangladesh armed forces team will fly to Burma today with relief material donated by the Bangladesh government for victims of cyclone Nargis, said an official press report.

Dhaka: A cargo ship used to carry fish called Radana Win Win sank in Rangoon port along with four other cargo ships when cyclone Nargis lashed Burma on Saturday. The ships were preparing to leave for Bangladesh with goods for export, said a Bangladesh fish company owner over telephone.

Paletwa: Four people from Paletwa Township in western Burma's Chin State were arrested on Monday by police for distributing some anti-referendum posters and pamphlets in the area, said a source from the area.

The Burmese military junta in order to woo voters for the ensuing referendum to approve the constitution on May 10 has been mobilising residents in Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State by giving clothes and money, a resident said.
